I've been waiting for four months for my dealer to get a Springfield EMP for me. Last night I walked into a shop that said they would have me one in less than two weeks and for only $11 more than my regular guy(who I am loyal too hence the four month wait). I've looked at the Kimber Aegis and the Para equivalent but the Springfield is pretty much what I have been set on. Enter a new set of problems, there are a few other guns I wouldn't mind picking up, and I could really use a chunk of this Springfield money to catch up on some holiday bills. Those other guns are a Glock 19 or a Kahr CW9/CW40. The Glock I have been wanting for a while and it is on my eventual buy list. The Kahr however was something I just handled for the first time last night. I've never shot a Kahr, but found the CW40 in my usual shop today as I was checking up on the EMP status (Still nothing yet, but he said he is bugging the crap out of his suppliers over it). I'm really digging the thinness of the Kahr and I think the design is catchy, but the grip doesn't feel quite "right". This may be because my carry gun is a Colt Defender with ultra slim grips and it gets the most hand time. The Glock feels a bit too big in my hand, but I've shot plenty and always wanted something to replace the 27 I traded off. So, am I going to be happy with my purchase or am I going to regret not getting the EMP? I must say that if I don't get the Springfield now, it will probably be quite a long time before I have the extra money to pick one up.

Study it long.. play it wrong, but..

...

IF you have patience, yeh, it might be worth 200 bucks to wait 2 months or.. ?

All I know is when I went looking and asked my gun dealer if they had one, they did, one.. And I swept it up, 1K, and that was the only one they've had, or have been able to get since last Sept 07 when I got mine.

I asked them, 3 weeks before this Christmas, if they were getting any in before this Christmas, (thinking, maybe, of getting one as a gift for a friend) and they got on the phone and ordered 8, right then and there, and the week before Christmas, they got ONE in, only.

Got to ask yourself, do ya feel lucky?

Well I'm not very patient, but this new shop says two weeks or less, so waiting isn't really the problem anymore. The main issue is whether I can use that $500 somewhere else. My wife seems to think I should get the Kahr and use the extra $500, but that was a given .

Jackal - I'm not really looking for another .45 and I'm not a fan of the double stack magazine in a 1911.

Humm... though question. An EMP is a wonderful thing. A bit too expensive in my opinion, but still that does'nt dismiss that its beautiful. For me i'd get the Glock and pay a few things off. There are about eleventy billion things you can do to it to make the Glock awsome. The Khar is good also, but there are only a limitied amount of things you can do with it. Anyways good luck

Well, ya'll can continue voting if you want, but I bought the Kahr today, put the Glock on layaway, and kept myself on this list for the Springfield. Since there are so many problems getting Springfields right now, my dealer agreed to keep me on the list and give me the call before he orders it. Hopefully it will hit right around tax return time.

I knew I'd have to get the Glock eventually, but I made the decision to buy the Kahr today because I've owned Glocks before and I just wanted something new. So far I don't think I've set it down for more than 5 minutes. Thanks for all the votes, definitely some Glock fans on this board!
