    It asked a simple question.
For hunting everything from varmint to Big Bear in North America would you choose the
    6.5 Creedmoor or the 30-06

Me, hands down the ole 06.
    What say you fellow shooters/hunters?

Guess how the results were leaning?

30/06 for it's ability to handle fatter/heavier bullets for dangerous game.

Aught six. Why does one ask questions to which they already know the answer?

I will say the 6.5C because this is the internet and there is never consensus on the internet.

06, simply because of the bear clause.

now remove bears and I'd choose the 6.5cm.

Put a long action 7mm in there ,and I'd probably chose that instead of the 06.

Say one gun to rule them all and I'll swap to my .375 Ruger.......

When you add the big bears, you take the CM out of contention.

This couldn't be a real survey. I remember this being hashed out in the gun rags back in sixties. The 30-06 is the most versatile cartridge for North American hunting- everything from varmints to bears. Many detractors said the '06 was too heavy for varmints. Others that it was too light for Grizzly Bear. When the dust settled and everyone grew bored with argument, it became obvious all three points of view were correct. The 30-06 is the most versatile cartridge for the Americas, but damnit, we're Americans and are better suited by a battery of two, even three rifles of different calibers than trying to make one do everything. That last hasn't changed.

06 if I was still able to shoot that caliber, so I'd have to use my 7mm08.

    Definitely the 30-06!!!
All other rounds for big game hunting are compared to it!
The little stuff doesn't matter a bear does!

Gave my old '06 to my son, so would have to use my .270, as terrible as that seems, but probably wouldn't be hunting the biggest bears, no matter what I had.

I have absolutely zero reasons to try to pick one gun/cartridge for hunting everything from varmint to big bear. I promised my love to just one women I am not going to do the same for a cartridge/rifle. Variety is the spice of life!

I'd take a 308win over both. Does %99 of the work of the -06, gets you a nice handier short action like the Creedmoor.

Has to be one or the other? I'd reach for the -06.

Between those two, -06 hands down as others have said due to the bear clause (pun intended, don't know if @LoonWulf caught that when he used it ).

I had to go look up how to spell it, think that's the first time I've ever tried to use it....and my phone wanted to make the bear German.....
