These files tell us what Ord and the War Dept., are up to. After you guys read these files let me know what was going on because "I AM LOST"

Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History. Your input is very important to all of us. Guys read the files if you have the time and post what you think was going on.

    Need help with hits guys

ps Guys remember this data is to keep the M1 Garand alive by its HISTORY. The more history you know the better you can shop for your next one.

A ig is a device for guiding a cutting tool.
A fixture is a device for holding a work part for the purpose of turning or milling or drilling or counterboring or threading or chamfering a work part to a specified dimension.

Guages are used to insure any cut, turned, drilled, threaded, chamfered, or counterbored surface on the work part meet the specified minimum and maximum tolerences.

Generally, guages, jigs and fixtures are provided at each work station in the machining center.

Not enough of any means production cannot prcoeed at the rate desired without the probability of an increased scrap rate.

Does this help you to understand what they are referring to?
