My top ten annoying firearm things

    1. AR-15 carbines with bipods.(Cause that 16" barrel is so unwieldy!)

    2. Canted anything, (So you're saying your eyes aren't straight?)

    3. Decals on rifles, Flags, Punisher Skulls, shark mouths, ect... (Operator as <deleted>, huh? ****!)

    4. Any firearm in a color other than, black, FDE, OD, Urban Gray, or Woodgrain. (It matches your eyes...)

    5. The Tommy Toughnuts act. (I think my bunny slippers just ran for cover.)

    6. The AR "gunsmith."(I love that 16x magnification of the front sight tower.)

    7. Zombocalypse Kid. (Nice biohazard sign holo sight. Great! Now you're prepped for your financial apocalypse.)

    8. The Doomsday Prepper: grown-up version of Zombocalypse Kid. (Do you think fifteen Beta mags in my bug out bag are enough?)

    9. The pistol sharpshooter. (Rifle accuracy at 100 yards with a Kel-Tech? Go screw yourself, nobody likes you!)

    10. The Brass Factoty: not an annoyance. These guys are like broken ATMs spitting out cash! (Oh, you don't reload? Well, I'll just help myself to these 300 Lapua 5.56 cases after you leave, I'm just too proud to do it while you are here!)

Any odd gun design that doesn't make sense to me...like carbine-revolvers. Nice idea to fire, but who would ever use one in real time?

And Glock Prefection (...not Glocks...just the claim that they are the pinnacle of perfection....which is, of course, occupied by the 1911....somebody had to say it....:D)

Dudes that rip apart perfectly fine Mosins, SKS's, Mausers, then drill, tap, cut, grind, toss out the original bits never to be found again and then try to sell them for three-times what a nice pristine version sells for. Then get all butt-hurt when you shake your head and walk away in disgust.

If you want a scoped rifle, there are many, many fine commercial ones out there at decent prices. If you want an AK, just buy a darn AK but don't ruin a fine SKS, especially Russian ones (AND LOOSE ALL THE FREAKING MATCHING PARTS!), to make into something it was never intended to be.

Ditto the 1911 vs Glock aficionades...I'll amplify this to include fanatics of *any* specific firearm and the ones who think everything they don't like/use is a joke and everyone who carries one/uses one of "those" is uninformed, a moron, inexperienced, etc.

I guess I feel that folks who think one size fits all in firearms are annoying and should be in the top ten. :)

    Scopes on lever action rifles.

Ppl that gripe over odd colored guns.

Any sort of spoterising or bubbaing up old guns when there are 800 new guns that will do what your trying to do better and for 1/3 the money

The new white tail exploder super magnum of the month, because it ain't dead enough if you can't drink the whole deer with a straw

Anything that has reference to "Zombies"! I don't want the guy next to me at the range to have fantasies of shooting zombies! Just ain't right.

That is only for me. I'm sure I could find nine more. :D

I was considering including Glock Snobs. Ditto to the "Glock Perfection" thing. Nothing against Glocks, but perfection c'mon! I say Glock Snobbery gets an honorable mention.

That would have been absolutely laughed off the ranch by Colonel Jeff.

Zombocalypse Kids are my number one pet peeve! They're firearms training boils down to 4 day straight "The Walking Dead" power watch!

Another thing I can't stand about the zombie theme in gun culture is: it makes the rest of us look like a bunch of knuckle heads. Then terms like "Zombie Ammo" (a reserve of your cheap ammo you save for a rainy day, or a big range day) start infiltrating the shooter lexicon.

    Thanks for that zombie kids!

Seriously man, a buddie and I went to a range where this guy showed us an M19717 .30 machine gun with about 2k rounds linked ammo. My buddie asked him "man, when are you going to break that out?!" The guy answered "it's for the zombies, I'm saving it for the apocalypse." I think I broke my nose I face-palmed so hard.

As long as people are being safe and courteous, I mind my own business and let people have their fun as they see fit.

I can say that it's not a ton of fun to be trying to zero a deer rifle while getting showered with brass by the guy with the AR-15 one bench over, but that's more a range design problem than anything else.

Shooting is a large hobby with lots of room for folks who have many different interests. Don't tread on me, and I won't tread on you.

The top three on my 'list' are people who do not follow the safety rules, know-it-alls, and those compelled to post lists of what firearm things annoy them.

Gun show table holders who give insultingly low ball offers on everything you're trying to sell or trade while having outrageously high prices on the same beat-up old junk that they haul around to every show that you attend.

    In random order:

    1. The full spectrum of Fanboy of types from adolescent Glock Geeks to middle-age adolescent M1911 worshipers who dismiss anything that does not conform with their dogma as heresy and inferior.

    2. People who think you can’t be pro-second amendment without being a Conservative and/or a Republican.

    3. Anything Zombie.

    4. Open carry of rifles in non-rural areas.

    5. Open carry of pistols in non-rural areas when concealed carry is allowed by law.

    6. Gun owners acting in a manner that neutral and anti second amendment people will interpret as physically threatening (I am not referring to the mere carrying of a gun) and confirm in their minds that guns must be banned. Just like you don’t provoke fights when carrying you should not provoke fights when attempting to defend the 2A.

    7. Gun owners playing make-believe dress-up with military style clothing in a setting other than a historical re-enactment. These are the guys who think walking around the Gun Show in full camo with their pseudo-assault rifles make them look Tacticool.

    8. Safety violations

    9. Safety violations

    10. Safety violations

Cheap semi autos in pretty colors sold as defensive weapons ment to be sold to uniformed people with little knowledge or training.

Most any non NM AR that weighs over 8 lbs.

Ammo prices and the guy with a table at a gun show selling 22lr bricks for 4x what he paid at Academy.

When I get to the range and I left my eye/ hearing protection at home.

    BTF glock 19

Cleaning guns when simple maintenance will do.

My wife when she says "you don't need another gun"

The guy behind the counter that if I don't buy this Noveske whatever that I will have a catestrofic failure

Muzzle breaks on rifles chambered for over the top cartiges for shooting 120lbs deer

Most any restrictive gun law in general

You sure have a lot of hate

Wow only 11 posts and you are venting your hate! Curious you hate Preppers since they only want top be left alone when everything collapses especially from those who don't prepare and now want in so the Preppers will take care of them.

As for 15 magazines right now I only have 12. I buy them when I catch them on sale

The most annoying thing about shooting is that the ammo isn't free...

I'll add one to those. Gun owners who confirm the worst stereotypes of gun owners. Acting like ignorant, fat, drunken, unkempt hillbillies.
Sorry, but when we're holding a gun rights rally here in Hartford CT and some yutz shows up in a jacked up pickup truk with Confederate flag stickers all over it, and he gets out wearing a grease stained grey "Punisher" hoodie, looking like he hasn't showered in three days, and he has an AR15 slung over his shoulder, which guy do you think is going to have a picture on the cover of the Hartford Courant? We all have to represent our cause in the best light. Not give people confirmation of what they already think of us.

The last time my wife caught me with a new gun I dropped this little gem law enforcement guys hear everyday, "that ain't mine." She wasn't convinced.

There are only a couple of things that annoy me.

    #1. Violating safety rules.
#2. Touching my guns when I don't have any idea who you are of if you're even supposed to be here.
#3. Arguing with me about what MY guns and what they're chambered in.
#4. Telling me that I'm going to get my arm shot off because I like to chicken-wing with most of my rifles. That's because I have limited rotation on my right forearm and it hurts otherwise. ... and I'm not an "operator" and never claimed to be one.

    That's about it.

    Matt
