My initial impressions with this little beat are all quite positive.

Now, I'm left with two issues:

    Picking a CCW round.
Also, I can't seem to find Micro-9 magazines from Kimber. Any insight as to magazines for these would be appreciated

    Picking a CCW holster.

For the reliable round, I'm open to all suggestions and will make the choice as/if any ammo that I do not already have becomes available.

As to the holster, I'll neither tolerate carrying a kydex / polymer holster nor debating my decision to not carry either of the same. Comments are welcome for the informing of others but I'll not address the issue further.
    So, *leather* only please.

I have been supremely happy for more than 20 years with my South African PPK holster from El Paso Leather and have an email off to them but I doubt that they have a molded leather holster yet for the Micro-9.

The Desert GunLeather holster (shown) that they made for my Aegis Kimber as an example is nice but I'd rather not un-belt to put it on or off.

Nice little pocket gun what did you trade if you don’t mind me asking? It’ll be great for those quick runs to the store to get milk or whatnot!

I hate to say for the distractionary debates and excessive explanation that would surely follow.

See how well the Kimber runs before investing too much money.

    Good point.

I've been 100% satisfied with my Kimbers to date but it'd be unpleasant to find I got a lemon after buying into an expensive holster.

    Have 3 Kimber Micro's ... .380, 9mm and 9mm Rapide...they all run great. Shoot everything I feed them.

I have two Kimber Clackamas rifles that are the finest guns I own. And I have one Kimber 1911 that is the worst gun that I have ever owned.

When I got my Micro 9 several years ago, magazines were plentiful. I'm sure the current pandemic on firearm purchases has erased all of that.

I shoot FMJ mostly in mine.

If you like leather, I can also say Milt Sparks, but look at the VM2. More stable but mostly: clips to the sides mean it hides better for most people. Was my favorite holster for my Kahr and other flat guns until I started going to WMLs and RDS and they don't make it for those last I checked. If they make one that fits.

Ammo... as far as I know nothing 100% solid on data for the compact barrel length, but pistols are pistols, so I (and others I know who do this for a living) just go with good duty rounds as the expansion envelope is supposed to be broad enough they work at range, and with shorter barrels. This is the definitive list:

I use 124gr Gold Dots, and have for years, find the bullet profile is nice for reliability even with odd little guns. They feel to the hand just like NATO spec 124 gr ball, and since that's my practice ammo it pairs nicely, no surprises when I do shoot off the hollow points.

Thanks. @WheelGunMan turned me onto a direct link to Kimber's own page. For some reason, I was unable to successfully maneuver around their site to find them.

Good info. In searching about, I am finally opening my horizons to a dual-clip option.

From my understanding, the Sig P938 and S/A 911 9mm mags will also work. S/A do seem to run a bit cheaper than either Kimber or Sig in my experience. The extended (+1) version in my P238 extends the grip a bit, but makes it feel like a whole different gun. In a positive way.

Yes they will...with a little modification. The Kimber Store price is a hell of a deal for 3 mags. Mags for my Micro 9 Rapide were $50 a pop. Kimber added a mag well extension to a standard Micro 9 frame and modified the magazines to work. Made it proprietary which equals $$ for accessories. That's okay...I really IMG_20210319_200215739.jpg IMG_20210315_174201173_HDR.jpg IMG_20210315_174023592_HDR.jpg like the look of the extended well. Ended up cutting the pinky hook off both my mags for it...still get a full purchase with my pinky finger, it just doesn't protrude as far. I then took an 8 round standard mag and cut it to fit the Rapide.

My Micro 9 has been a reliable little shooter. I bought three spare mags off gun broker last fall, so far all have been great.

The oddest thing about the Micro 9 is the “reverse magazine floorplate” feel of the Mags. All of my other autos have a lip or hook facing forward, in the Micro 9 the extended portion of the floorplate faces to the rear. If you’re used to feeling the Mag with your hand when you’re reloading it is something to consider and train for. You don’t want to reverse the Mag and get crossed up under stress.

I like the Federal 150 gr Micro HST for my carry ammo now, it’s been reliable in both my LC 9 and Micro 9 and a good performer for others in gel tests for a few years now.

    Stay safe.

I understand that completely. Fortunately, I do not shoot a single other gun with extensions or polymer-bottoms with the exception of my Glock that NEVER gets carried since it's my house flashlight too.

Great to hear about the HSTs as they are my classic go-to rounds.

Also - good to hear about success with WWB as that is my worst-case-scenario semi-auto ammo.

I see Kimber has magazines listed as in stock. Yes their site is a bit difficult to navigate to find what you want. Not intuitively obvious.
