Trigger pull on Browning .22 take-down

    Does anyone know how to shorten the trigger travel (before the gun fires) on my Browning .22 take-down?

    Wouldn't be prudent, unless you want an unsafe full-auto .22.

    The long pre-stage take-up is a safety feature.
    It takes very little to get used to it.
    Just don't release it all the way between shots.
    The re-set is pretty short.

    What do you mean by re-set, and why would a shorter travel be unsafe?

    I mean when you fire any semi-auto, you have to release the trigger far enough for the disconnecter to re-set and then you can start over pulling again.

    Without a disconnecter, the gun is a full-auto.

    The way the Browning .22 Auto works depends on the trigger sear / disconnecter link being able to reset between each shot in order to trap the cocked striker at the rear and get ready to release it again.

    Without the long pre-travel when the trigger is released fully, and the safety put on?
    The striker / sear engagement would be very shallow, and it would be unsafe.
    Or go full-auto when you tried to shoot it.

    The gun was designed by John Browning about 100 years ago, and has worked perfectly fine all these years without tampering with the design.
