We import several Romanian firearms that I'm familiar with, from bolt action rimfire rifles, to semi-auto AK47 derivatives. I know the Romanian Army currently uses an AK pattern rifle, but I don't know what sidearm is current, or if they even distribute one to the majority of their forces. What's current is not my question, though.

In the 1950s, the Romanians produced a TT33 clone, the TTC, as well as SKSs. Were these solely for export or did their own military use them? Between 1955-1990ish (when Russia started to lose their grip), what was the Romanian standard issue sidearm? If they produced the Makarov PM locally, why haven't we seen this imported?
