A new website TheReload.Com is digging into the trouble at the NRA. Gross mis-management of funds has come to light in the NY State bankruptcy trial the NRA is currently engaged in. You may wish to read about this.

The place to do it is TheReload.Com, becasue the NRA is certainly not going to report anything negative about themselves. This is fair, balanced reporting on gun-related issues by people INSIDE the gun industry. As such they are sensitive to gun issues and don't have a political "ax to grind". So it's the one place you can find unbiased reporting on gun issues.

The stink at the NRA just keeps getting worse. I had read a lot about the crisis but the above link was very informative.

The NRA’s lawyers have focused on arguing the organization has already reformed itself and corrected its past problems.

Well, the following nullifies the former:

The lawyers also argued LaPierre is vital to the NRA’s operations and irreplaceable in its fundraising efforts—

LaPierre has got to go. Until then, nobody is going to buy any claims of reformation and/or correction.

Thanks to rfwobbly for the link.

The saddest thing in the article:
lawyers also argued LaPierre is vital to the NRA’s operations and irreplaceable in its fundraising efforts—a claim backed up by the testimony of Frazer and Spray.

The promising thing in the article:
A trustee could also fire current leadership and the board of directors before the meeting occurs.

A trustee could also fire current leadership and the board of directors before the meeting occurs.

Not much there on how WLP created a front company in Texas, and unilaterally declared bankruptcy in Texas, probably to thwart the NY bankruptcy case.

Sadly, what's probably needed most is an ombudsman to come in, freeze all the financial assets of everyone earning more than $90K while giving that entire group their walking papers.

The NRA does have hugely valuable assets in having its 5 million members; also a firm and predicated presence in training, range development, education, and the like that has continuing value. The NY AG wants to abolish the agency that's required to mandate standards for LE Officer training, ranges, and the like. We can save the fish, it's rotten head just needs lopping off.

Shutting down the NRA or reducing it's influence on politics would be a gigantic victory for the left. Their goal is to get rid of the NRA and any organization that supports your right to keep and bear arms. This would stop well funded legal challenges to our rights. Keep this in mind while your bitching about the NRA leadership.

Enough with the NRA wars. Staff decided awhile ago we weren't going to repetitive threads. Let's wait to see what the court decisions and we can revisit.
