trouble finding scope bases.

I recently purchases a Savage MKII FVT with Williams peep sites.

The gun is taped for savage factory bases, but it did not come with them. I would like to put a scope on the rifle, but i cant find bases for a Savage rimfire; only the center fires.

i don't care it its a weaver style base or not, I just want something to be able to mount some rings on. I was told that this base will fit, but its $100.

check ebay or gunbroker.
They usually have stuff like that.
It shouldn't be near $100 for a scope base. wow.

i checked gun broker to no avail.

i did get a hold of the Savage service department, and they sold me a set of factory weaver bases for $8 over the phone.

I'll post pics when I get them.

why didn't I think of that, I had to order parts from them before, and found it to be WAY cheaper than "factory surplus" from ebay.

I'm surprised, they've only made about a million of those rifles, I would have figured it for a standard base.

they told me that, as far as they know, nobody makes an after market base for the MKII, and that Weaver makes there factory bases just for them.
