I posted this on other boards so I'll post it here also. Keep in mind I know both guns quite well, their pros and cons so there is no need to tell me. Also as to why I want a truck gun, it is because I can.

So the first option is my AR 15 5.56 with a 4" barrel........ Yeah, 4" barrel........

Option number two is my UTAS UT9 9mm that takes Glock mags.

Which would you choose?

You had 3 Taurus pistols in your OP at the other sight . But of those two choices here it would probably be the 9mm if I thought that I was going to be shooting it while inside the truck , it’s not quite as loud .

Simple exercise in "which would you choose". I changed it from the Taurai to these two just because these two are so much cooler. :)

Odd post, you don't want opinions, but yet you do.

I sure as heck wouldn't choose a .556/.223 with a 4" barrel. The ballistics are terrible. But your muzzle flash will be impressive.
Roughly 1600fps

Its pretty well known that the lethality of 5.56/.223 is due to velocity. And you aren't getting reliable expansion at the velocities a 4" barrel can provide.

Then you're misreading......... The premise is in the last sentence, "which would you choose" not "I personally need to justify my choices". You must have missed it..........
Doesn't mean you can't justify your choices.

Truck gun threads are great. I would go with the ar. Just because.

I have found it funny that some people feel that they have to justify what guns they carry in their vehicles, or feel the need to critique what others, on what they carry.
Everyone’s situation is different, and we don’t all drive the same vehicle. And then there’s also the fact that we own and like different guns.
What is best for one person, is not always best for the next. But what I do recommend is that you take a class on shooting from inside a vehicle, and fighting with a vehicle as cover.
If you have never fired a firearm from inside a vehicle, it’s something you should try.

IOW we're being trolled?

It's okay Gunny. It's supposed to be a fun thread but obviously some people (not you) seem to have taken it too seriously. Oh well.

Some people do take things a little too serious.
Some of us have more than a few guns, to which most are for having fun with.
But here’s a serious tip if shooting through a windshield. From inside, aim low. From outside, aim high.
