To me, a truck gun is one that is carried hidden in the truck most of the time, to be used if needed outside said vehicle..
Using it whilst driving would not be where I'm at, and the choice would depend on which truck I was driving at the time.
Smaller weapons are easier to hide, larger lend themselves to more situations IMO.

FWIW my truck gun is a Savage Axis in 270 that I bought during one of those crazy Walmart inventory blowouts 4-5 years ago. I think it was $124. Other than the fact it's RH and I'm LH it's a pretty good option IMO.
