"True Grit"

I just saw the remake of "True Grit" and I thought it was great. My only complaint was with my bad hearing the dialog was hard to follow.

Bad hearing or good, the dialog was hard to follow especially when Jeff Bridges was speaking. I thought the movie was OK but not great. The girl that played Mattie was fabulous. Jeff Bridges was adequate but he was hard to understand, too many slurred words. I normally like Matt Damon but felt he was miscast in this movie.

I will eventually give Jeff Bridges a chance and see it! When I first seen the movie trailer on tv....I shouted blaspemy!

Nobody can replace the Duke! I even went to amazon and ordered the original dvd. Original rated G and I was surprised that the new one got PG-13 instead of R...so they must have been careful?

Already watched original 4 times....

I did see a commentary with bridges and he prob done good job, but still wont be original. Seems like thats all hollywood does anymore is make new version of an old classic....then put in alot of cussing, some sex, more cussing! :banghead: You get the picture!

I thought it was alright. IMHO the girl that played Mattie and most of the bad guys fit pretty well, but Bridges and Damon didn't. I generally like Bridges and Damon, but I do not think that they were the best for those rolls. All in all I liked it, mostly because I liked the original and they didn't butcher it.

i have never seen the 1st one...but the new one was horrible.....will probably never watch the 1st now
