Has anyone ever used the Truglo TFO sights ? My middle aged eyes don't get along well with traditional tritium nightsights, and the Novak tritium dot configuration is an improvement but not perfect (daytime use). I couldn't help but wonder if the Truglo TFOs would be a good solution for me for my CCWs ? Thoughts/opinions please ?

Greeting's~!:)

My Browning BuckMark came from the factory with a Tru-Glo marble
(green) fiber optic front sight. It has been, and is a tremendous help
allowing these old (almost 59 years) eyes too see. These sights are
light gathering sights, and really do make a difference. Kind'a makes
shooting enjoyable for us old folks :)D :D :D )

I haven't seen the hybird tritium/FO sights in person, but I've heard that they're sort of bulky. I have an FO front sight on a Kimber Custom. As Ala Dan says, they're a boon for over-fifty eyes, plus very fast to acquire and press ontarget. Mine are from Brazos Custom, and came with green, red, and orange FO tubes. I still haven't decided whether I like the green or red best (this week I'm leaning to red -), but I know I don't care for the orange - it washes out too easily.

I purchased a front sight TruGlow in red for my sig P229. It helped a bit but I found it is a very thin optic strand. It doesn't do any good where it can't pick
available light. I think the Ashley Express sights might afford a quicker sight picture but since I haven't had the opportunity to see one, I'm not sure.

I have the Truglo TFO's on one of my USP .45's. The one I carry. I have at least 8 guns with tritium sights of varying vintage and brand. In the absolute dark, the TFO's are by my estimation 2 - 3 TIMES brighter than the plain tritium sights on my other guns - even the new ones. So bright, the rear casts an 'eerie glow' on the night stand

I have them lined up in my safe side by side and there's no mistaking which gun has the TFO's on it.

In daytime situations, one distinction is that the TFO's don't have a discernible white outline around the fiberoptics. Thus, I have 3 "all green" dots as opposed to the other guns with 3 green dots surrounded by white outlines. Is that a problem? Not in my opinion... YMMV

In dusk situations I really prefer the TFO's because they produce enough light for your eyes to draw a clear, fast sight picture without drama.

I give them a thumbs up.
