Trying to find a holster for a S&M M&P 9c

So I've been looking for the a holster for my GF's compact M&P and haven't had much luck. Cheaper than Dirt has one, and I've stumbled across only a few others. I'm trying to find a belt holster, open carry, but one that is not bulky so that after we get our CCW's it can be hidden by a coat. Cost isn't to big of a deal, but I'm not looking to spend a stupid amount either.

Anyone have any advice?

I'm a big fan of Tucker Gun Leather's Silent Thunder IWB but they also make it OWB as well. Leather lined kydex so it is the best of both worlds.

For open carry : Consider a holster with a retention on it so some wacko cant disarm her.
Heres two that I know of for the M&P Compact : Safariland 6367 and 0701. She will have to practice with an empty gun to get fast with these , the security is worth it unless she is deep in the woods and the only danger is wild life. FWIW I think the M&P C model is great choice, set her up with a spare mag carrier and a Surefire light and she will be good to go...Once you start CCW then IWB is the way to go.

I prefer IWB, but many people seem to like the holster above. The "slide" version allows different legths of the same model to work...so if you buy an M&P 9 later, your holster will still work.

I agree. If I open carry, I use a blackhawk serpa cqc. It isn't concealable at all on my frame. I haven't been able to carry owb concealed at all unless I use a coat...and the coat comes off indoors so I just stick to IWB.

Excellent retention and reholstering ability. Very comfortable and all the features of the more expensive holsters that it copies. The guy ships quick and is very friendly. Dozens of satisfied customers on several forums. He'll also cut slits in the backing so the holster could be worn OWB...but like I said...I prefer IWB.

Joe- I really like the design of the holster that you posted about, but they do not list the M&P 9c on the model list. I know how close this pistol it to a GLOCK 19, but they are not the same. I figure it I call them and ask which to get they'd help me, but for other hoslters, which one is compatible with her S&W?

I think a belated X-mas gift will be putting on a Crimson Laser to the pistol, but I think that will come after the holidays, and I'm already getting her to carry a Mini-Mag light in her purse. She doesn't want to be decked out in gear (holster + extra mag holder + flashlight holder) so I'm trying to please her style sense as well as safety. I'm sure you all understand this

I passed along this thread to her so that she can look and she what she wants. Things like what belt loop size and all are things that are a wee bit past what I know hahahaha

Also remember...a good belt is more important than the holster IMO.

Dress belts don't cut. You have to give up and buy a belt thick and sturdy enough to hold that weapon and holster up. It took me awhile to learn that the hard way. Once I bought a good gun belt (no, that extra thick one you can buy at the mall that seems thick enough just isn't good enough), I discovered I liked a few holster that I already had and had dismissed as poor fitting. Galco and several other make great belts. I bought a few 5.11 dress belts, they're normal looking but are very supportive (and significantly cheaper than the competition).

OWB or IWB doesn't matter...a quality (gun) belt is a necessity.
