Trying to get into reloading, want your input.

There's a lot of responses here. From the OPs questions, it is obvious he needs to get a reloading manual and STUDY the front part before he even thinks about load data and understand what each step does. As stated above, The ABCs of Reloading is good, but I prefer Lyman's Reloading. 38 Special is a good cartridge to start/learn on.
I did, actually. Bought a copy, wrote notes all over it, bought some load data.

Bought a press, components, dies. Started with black powder, and graduated to smokeless.

Now I'm just vibing.

Unless OP is lying about his hiatus, pretty sure he's got that "STUDY" thing down pretty good.

Dont forget the law of diminishing returns LOL.
OP good on you for getting up to speed in an extremely rewarding hobby. Don't forget to pass along the knowledge in the future when the last of us old farts pass on to the great target range.

If you think you will save money, think again. Unless you are the heir to a former reloaders hoarde of primers, powder, bullets\shot and empties.
Still fun although searching for everything is getting old fast.
