Tulsa Gun Show Report

Well it was a good as everyone has said. My feet hurt. I did not see everything of coarse. I only got to go one day-- TODAY. There were not "weird" people there that I have heard go to evil gun shows. Normal looking people of all ages. Alot of women. Guns prices were too high for me. Like twice what I have paid for some of my firearms. But, just to see all the things there was excellent. The ATF did have a table set up with FREE(taxpayer funded I mean) books and such. There was one that has all the different States gun laws. The thing that upset me is Arkansas had 2.5 pages of gun laws. CA had 58 pages. I am not kidding. Good Grief!!!! Everyone should go at least once in a lifetime. Tulsa is a clean city. Traffic is not bad at all. If you go pack some food and go out to your vehicle to eat and drink cause they charge 2-3.00 for cokes and bad food cost anywhere from 4.00 for one piece of pizza to 6.00 for a hot dog. No kidding. The NRA had a booth and alot of people were signing up. 25.00 to join and free admission (10.00) a good deal. It was WONDERFUL!!!!! I got a very nice leather carry purse, 2 holsters,3 bayonets that I have wanted for a LONG time and another neat purse. Yes women who like guns will LOVE this gun show.

It was okay. The gun "deals" were uhm....not deals at all (however, a friend of mine did manage to get a like-new kel-tec sub 2000 for $250), but there were some smokin' ammo prices! I would have loved to see 7.62x39 a little lower, but that orange ammo booth had brass cased .357 for $8 a box (50 rounds)! 9mm luger ussually costs that much!!!!!!

I'm sick of seeing military type guns (from milsurp bolts, to SKS/AK/AR-15) go from anywhere between "50 bucks too much" to "Wow.....does he really think anyone's THAT big of a sucker?!?!"

Well worth the 10 bucks admission for all the money I saved on ammo....and I got surplus .303!!!!!

I think it is an impressive show due to its size and variety of firearms. The last 3 times I have gone have been disappointing. Generally, firearms are about twice what I would pay. I did find some good ammo deals - 150 rounds of Lake City .308 Match for $30 and some cheap parts for my mosins and mausers. This may be my last trip to Tulsa until I hear that it has gotten better. The major dealers in ammo have raised the surplus 8mm and 7.62x54 up by about 50% from the last show there. The .223 seemed high to me but people were buying it like crazy!

Gun prices at TWICE what you would expect to pay...?

I've been going to the show for 15+ years and have never seen that. Deals are always there...just don't expect to see dealers or individuals blatantly giving things away...

Not many deals at all and the few I did find seemed very suspect.

I imagine the exhibitors have the prices marked up so high is because people are willing to pay that price.

The table prices have also went up as well.

Every firearm I saw like one of mine was at least 75% to 200% higher than I paid. I am not lying. Maybe since people come from all over the country to some the prices are good. But that is beside the point. Even if you buy nothing it is a sight to see. You will see firearms of all kinds back to before the Revoluntary War. Shotguns up to 40-50,000 dollars. Sets of Colt firearms in beautiful presentation cases that have never even had the cylinder turned!!! The tables were 150.00. I had a friend there that is a dealer. He goes mostley as he is a collector. He says alot of the dealers trade between themselves for things they want. The rest is just fun. Also alot of neat knives. I saw a Colt python silloutte Hunter like I just bought for 1000.00 it was for sale for 3700.00. Imagine that. It is a great show. Take your children of appropriate age. I imagine the young boys there were having a great time. They were all big eyed. But keep a CLOSE eye on them cause you can get separated from who you are with in 5 seconds there are so many people there. One little boy got lost and went up to the policeman. I just happened to be in the right place to see it. There poor boy was crying. His dad had a look of such relief on his face when he came and got him. The child grabed his legs and would not let go. I imagine the father is thinking ---Oh NO the first thing his son will say when they get home is "Monny Daddy lost me"!!!

That show had me thinking that I could sell my mosin 91/30 for 200 bucks because all the junky ones were going for 125.

I'd love to sell my stuff there for hella profit, but I can't imagine any of the overpriced stuff ever gets sold. It's like everyone is waiting for a sucker.
