I'm thinking about getting a C&R FFL. From what I've read, you do not have to send fingerprints and photo, but on the ATF sight it says you have to order the application forms because of the needed fingerprints and photo. Anyone applied lately? Are they now asking for the prints and photos?

As of last December no prints or photos needed. They did want me to order the paperwork. I called the local branch and had the packet two days later.

order form, fill it out, send the CLEO copy to your local chief of law enforcement (local police chief or sheriff, depending on your area), and teh ATF copy, your citizenship form (printable), to the supplied address along with a USPS money order or cashier's check for $30. 2-10 weeks later you'll have your C&R license (barring any problems with your background).

Don't forget to get the CLEO copy to your local police chief / sheriff or you'll be in federal violation. best advice, do it first and wait a week to ensure they got it. Some people say send it via mail, I hand-delivered to the station.

order 2 forms in case you mess one up. like i said, the statement of citizenship can be printed from pdf

There is no longer a separate citizenship statement. It's now part of the form.

Best money I ever spent.

Money saved on C&R weapons transfers are obvious but think about this:

Both Midway USA and Graf and Sons both give Dealer prices to C&R holders :D

Three years of discounts from those two places adds up quick

Just do it!

Good luck

Mike

Plus Brownell's! When I was building a new AR upper and getting a bunch of other AR parts, I ended up ordering a whole slew of parts from them. Every order paid for my C&R over again!

Holy MOLY, Graf's gives a discount? I've been buying from them for years without ever sending my C&R to them! :(

indeed! they give you a logon to a segregated domain, grafs-dealer.com (which is just a container on the graf site)

have at it....

Fill out the paperwork, stroke them a check for $30 and then hide your credit cards!

Did the Curio and Relic requirements just change?

I'm hoping you can help me here because Google is just confusing me (either that or I'm doing it myself...)

I ordered the C&R license application form sometime last year but never actually got around to filling it out and sending it in. :banghead:

I decided to finish getting that recently and looked online for the forms. When I went to the ATF's website HERE it says they can't post the form online because of the requirement of fingerprint cards and a photograph. :scrutiny:

I've been searching about this online and NOWHERE has it said anything about fingerprints, and no fingerprint cards came with the original paperwork I got from the ATF.

Currently I have an ATF Form 7CR (5310.16) Revised May 2005

and

A Certification of Compliance with 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(5)(B) I think to certify my US Citizenship.

Is this enough or do I need to order fresh forms (and fingerprint cards) from the ATF? Thanks.

Ok, how long does it take to get the application. I ordered on the 7th, don't have anything yet. I live in South Georgia, and I thought the application came from Atlanta.
