Personally I like my single actions to be chambered in a REVOLVER cartridge and honestly that goes for double actions for the most part, I don't mind a few DA's chambered in semi auto cartridges but to me the big frame Smiths and Rugers are too big for 10mm/.40. The GP100 10mm isn't bad, but it's a somewhat smaller revolver. To each his own but no, I definitely don't want a single action in 10mm.

I’m still waiting for my 3-4 background waiting safety period check for the 10mm SAA to clear. Seattle PD is short another 300 officer and staff because of mandates. At this rate it’s going to be till next year!! ughhh

Every time I read a post like this I thank God I live in a free State. I can walk in any gun store in the state and be walking back out in 15 minutes with the firearm of my choice. Handgun, rifle, shotgun, or even all 3 at once.

The thing I find curious about this is the ports. Not because of the aesthetics, but because they counteract one of the features of the SAA design. The grip frame is of a SA revolver shaped so the muzzle will rise, rotating the gun in the hand thus reducing felt recoil.
The upside is the ports would allow for quicker follow-up shots which could be a significant advantage if used for hunting; and/or defense from predators of either 2 or 4 legged variety.

the story is, the Uberti Italian designer want to do a ported 9mm SAA. But they were told they could not sell it in Most Nato County that doesn’t allow military calibers. So they just went 1mm up and made a 10mm. It’s not a very popular SAA but that’s why I love it.

I think a 10mm is a great caliber and particularly well suited to a SA revolver. In a DA revolver; meh. Moon clips aren't my cup of tea (although I do have a Ruger SP-101 9mm). I would love to have a 10mm/.38-40 convertible. I'd likely buy a single box of .38-40 and never fire one, but I'd be able to if I wanted. :D

I recently acquired the 10mm ported Uberti. It's a shooter and has a decent trigger. I was comparing the recoil to my 610. Honestly, I could not tell a difference with my mid power handloads. Need to do more comparisons and will report back.

Congrats on the new gun! I never new they were being made in ported 10mm versions until you posted this. One reason I enjoy the forum, I am always coming across firearms that I was in the dark on..:D

they only release a few and they are hard to find, and they sit on the selves forever. There are only 2 YT videos on the it. And that’s why I like it.

I have an old holster that a friend of mine gave me for my blackhawk. The Uberti 10mm fits it quite well.

Mark it is a beautiful gun and every one has their likes and dislikes, just human so don't take it personal, the fact that you like it is all that matters. I would gladly accept one if it was a gift, but I would not buy one ported. Congratulations!

thanks man! I don’t take anything online personally. It might annoy me sometimes but it is what it is.

I personally like were SA guns are going! Don’t hate me too much but I was thinking a 4” SA 1873 with a matching color case harden tactical light, but design to look like it was from the late 1900’s, or maybe the light can be walnut case! That would be one cool SA 1873!
