Obviously, this is just my personal opinion, but the new DSA TP9 tactical pistol is really ugly....

    http://www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=BTTP9

My general distaste towards all things "tactical" obviously colors my opinion strongly, but for the love of pete, how much crap can you mount on a pistol? Is it really necessary for a pistol to have a 4 rail system on it? Call me a luddite, but if you can justify that much junk on your gun then you probably call yourself an "operator" and wear cammies and tactical nylon gear 24/7 despite the fact that you washed out of the Webelos....

I agree...it's stupid. But the select fire, however, to me, is kinda cool.

Still not as ugly as a Webley.
It is a pistol in the sense that an Uzi is a pistol, so there is room for all those rails. Not that I am justifying that monstrosity, just saying.

A note of clarification: It seem DSA is an importer and/or distributor for this guns, not the manufacturer; it's made by Brugger & Thomet (hence B&T). As far as I know it's a derivative of the Steyr TMP.

As to its design: The rails et al. seem to be "corporate inertia" at work (going with the flow in terms of product design). I'm not particularly sure why they added a trigger safety in addition to the crossbolt safety.

pfft. Hi Point is uglier than them all.

I was going to let everyone know that this thing is actually a semi auto version of the very cool styer TMP, but someone else who has obviously played counterstrike beat me to it

    .

Well that might be true, but at least Hi-Point are cheap. That thing is unly and expensive. At least it's expensive if I gotta write a check for it. :p

Such a bulky, large 9mm pistol exists only becasue silly laws prohibit regular folks from buying new select fire versions. In SMG format, I can see quite a few uses for something that small and handy.

Even in semiauto format, though, I'd like one in .45. Give it a 30 round mag and I think it'd be a heck of a fun plinker. Expensive, though.

Since I can't own a Glock 18 here in Illinois I'll just stick with my Glock 34 and 25 shot magazine.

I have no idea why Steyr felt the world needed another machine pistol especially since there is a proliferation of H&K MP-5 and MP-5K subguns, several hundred thousand Glock 18 select fire pistols, Walther and Beretta subguns, and God only knows how many Czech Skorpion machine pistols floating around planet earth.
You would think Steyr would have wised up when the MPi 69 and MPi 81 subguns never really caught on anywhere.
Good marketing idea Steyr, now dump the product on the US in a semi auto form to try and recoup your R&D money,,,

My opinion only, but to me the "ugliest gun ever" is the one pointed at me.

Other than that I consider beauty to be in the eye of the beholder.:)

If it burns powder, launches a projectile, and is used for good, I'm all for it. Having said that, those Glocks never did look right to me;)

I don't know about ugliest gun ever....

Its just a Steyr TMP clone http://www.kitsune.addr.com/Firearms/Subs/Steyr_TMP.htm

I think the T9SF package with, silencer, folding stock, ect it looks pretty cool.

    Personally I think its a heck-of-alot nicer looking than a Mac-10:neener:

Well your opinion is wrong. :neener:

I like the look of that gun, and I do like the look of Hi-Point polymer frame, too. And Webleys look nice, too. CZ-52 does, too.

I feel there are several that can walk off with a prize, but one that has always struck me as an odd duck is FN's Five-seven® Pistol. If I were given one as a gift, I would accept it. However, even if I had the extra cash for this pistol, I seriously would not purchase it. I simply cannot warm up to it. It doesn't look real; it doesn't feel real. It looks like a C02 BB pistol.

To the OP, that is the prettiest handgun ever.

    Go use a flintlock gun.

Tastes change. I found the Glock very ugly until this year. It just grew on me. I now own a G19. My biggest regret about it is that it took so long for me to see the beauty in the ugliness. :D

Tastes may change, but it will be a cold day in hell before you see me packing one of these DSA abominations around. I will concede that with the stock, they look sort of neat, but as a pistol? bleh.

I have a soft spot for machine pistols. If the '34 NFA ever is abolished, I would like to have one.

I don't understand the disdain for businesslike, functional machinery, overly accessorized or not. I find such mechanisms beautiful because they are nothing they are not. I dunno, aesthetics is a funny, often subjective thing.

The TP9 looks like a rip off of the Steyr TMP.
