I told my camera group that I got robbed; and that I want to setup a camera system to try to catch this guy.

First, most were negative.. Telling me it was a "fluke" and that the thief will not come back.. Today, the guy was back, but was spotted by a neighbor..

The reality is that guns are simply not a problem and affect very few people in the UK. The media is selling papers by creating anxiety and fear, and it works. We have had cases already where homeowners have shot and killed burglars, and it's been ruled in the courts that their response was extremely disproportional to the situation, and they have been found guilty of murder.

With comments like this, and straight out ostrich-style head in the sand denial and ignorance of the stats, I'm probably wasting my breath.. :cuss: :banghead:

There's a good chance that the perps observed your apartment, noted the absence of a pesky male and came back for Janie. She has knives but that's not a very certain defense. Wish we could mail her a shotgun!

Albert, what is the laws on improvised firearms in Taiwan? (i.e. spudguns loaded with pencils?)

You have to register "projectile weapons" even if they are homemade that "might have a potential of killing someone." Metal BB's are outlawed here, only airsofts, which costs more then real guns.

The guy says "I've never been hit by theft, therefore, it must be so statistically low to be of no concern.."

So... the survey of _1_ is gospel...

Just like I've never been in a car accident, therefore my chances of being in one must be so statistically low that I shouldn't have to worry about it. These people are absolutely brilliant.
