Random question...is a stock, unconverted Saiga with the factory 10-round magazines, fixed non-pistol grip stock, etc. legal in states like Massachusetts that retained the assault weapons ban in one form or another? My research seems to show that it would be OK, but I can't find anything 100% clear.

From my understanding, if it like NY, its still an assault weapon because its a semi that takes mags.
You get 2 'evil' features.
Bayo-lug
Compensator
Pistol Grip
etc...

Just look up the provisions of the AWB on wikipedia, and count your evil features haha.

Note, in NY Flash hiders are always illegal for some reason, and flash-hider/compensator combo's are also a no-go. So if it has a FH, you need to swap it for a comp and if necessary pin/weld it in place.

Unconverted Saiga is legal in NY....they're on the shelves. I'd check with an FFL in MA.
