I believe it is 7.2" to get the advertised 1/4 MOA click adjustments.

Yes on the 7.2 " CTC (center to center) and I'll bet there are not a 100 people in the world left that know that without calculating.

Jeez. I didn't know there WAS a specific distance for ANY scope.

    Should I re-mount my scopes?

The old Unertl, Lyman, and Redfield target scopes used mounts with external adjustments built into the sliding rings.

The base spacing has to be at a specific distance apart for the clicks to move the scope the right amount each click or graduation.

Their literature had the spacing for different adjustments, if you wanted finer tuning, 10.8" would get you 1/6 moa per click. The actual movement in the mount is .0005" per click.
