I have an unused Hillerich & Bradsby (yes, the Louisville Slugger guys) WWII walnut stock. I got it from my brother who got it from our grandfather. Worked all his life there. It's in pristine condition. Beautiful wood too.

Any suggestions on what best to do with it?

I'd like to get some hardware to go along with it. Any suggestions there?

No obvious cartouche though.

IMHO, I believe it would be best displayed wrapped around an original Inland or Rockola, reblued of course. Maybe in the style "the service" would present one to an officer? At any rate, what ever you decide, I'd love to see pictures of it.

reblued of course
Or not--preserving the original finish, even when worn down adds a great deal to the value of the arm.
And an original Rockola will run about $1500; an Inland perhaps $1200 in today's hugely over-inflated Carbine market.

The modern-production versions of those run about the same price--just not at the same value.
