These were loaded to just under max, about 9.2gr. Its definately hot, and I wouldnt want to shoot a large volume of them either. They sure are fun, and a useful round for what we loaded them for.

Your experience with the Gold Dot almost mirrors mine using the 180gr for my 10mm. It sports a 7" barrel and using 13grs of AA-9, it will push the 180gr out at 1350fps, which packs some authority when it get to the target.

I tried several powders when working on the loads for it as well, and the #9 worked out the best overall. It has minimum flash, likely do to the barrel length, and gave me the best velocity, and accuracy. With my 45's I have not loaded much for them, but the GD was the one I started with and will more than likely stay with.

I like the standard star mushroom from them, seemingly no matter what your putting them into. To me they are like the Partition, results you can count on.

The GDHPs really are a good bullet. I have found that I dont have to push them that hard to expand well, but I do anyway. One shot to dispatch an unwanted varmint.
