The article I was interviewed for showed up in today's Pioneer Press.

Pink Pistols promote gun rights for gay community
For years, the gay community has rejected gun ownership. Now, the Pink Pistols say it's time to move away from that thinking.

Of course, the one thing I said that I wished I'd softened, he quoted. Ah well. I knew I was talking to a reporter.

    Nualle,
Good job!I think your qoute was just fine.
I think the article made the point quite well, we need to
look at our simalarities not our differences.
    Keep up the good work!

Good article. It gave a good sense of unity among gun owners.
    Good work helping organize people.

I wish there were more groups like Pink Pistols and JPFO. It would make people realize that self defense, 2nd amendment, freedom et. al. are not just "bubba" issues.

All too often, they have to be seized back from leftist extremists, fascists, and other tyrants.

Nualle, I think that quote was on the mark, and better than any I have gotten in the press (none :D ). I think that is wasn't a bad article, either. Maybe some people will see it and think about the message, rather than rejecting it out of hand.

Wonderful article. I too wish there were more groups like Pink Pistols. I'm glad to see other gun groups taking such a positive stance towards them.

We need this group all across the country. It could be the thin end of the wedge.

Well said. It's good to see a decent article come out of any of our wonderful "balanced"media.

Thanks for the kind words, folks.

Lonnie: the Pink Pistols web site lists a chapter in Portland, OR.

    http://www.pinkpistols.com/local/portland/index.html

They have a local email distribution list on Yahoo, so you can check that out to see how active they are.

As to the quote: I stand behind it, of course, but I do wish he'd at least added the next sentence I said: "That's among the lessons of the black civil rights movement." Woulda come off less belligerent and with more perspective, IMO.

Serves me right, I suppose, for not planning out my sound bites ahead of time.
