Didn't want to drag a 3 day old thread to the top, so just a word of thanks to those who offered info for the young man in the wheel chair. Your input was really appreciated.

After a couple of near muggings, he's on his way to lots of range time! Didn't know he had great upper body strength..presses 300 lbs...so 1 hand shooting is a reality for him. No lower body..needs other hand to steady himself and stay in the chair. He'll be getting training in his CCW class.

He had money saved for a 32" HDTV and now that's going to more important things! He has his priorities in order..and his Dad's blessing. So, everything worked out well. Thanks, again.

Ned, he said the people at the range in OK City are going to let him try a .38 and .40...so looks like he may go either way on that.

I was giving this some thought today. With multiple attackers and such, a high capacity auto would obviously be better. But, what are the odds of that? Maybe good where he lives. It'll will all depend on his capabilties and what he his comfortable with. And anything is better than a pocket knife! Let us know what he decides. 300 lb press?! Nice!

To jump in late/off topic. Also have him try a couple (wonder 9s) Say a Glock 19, Sig 226, Beretta 92,etc. I am thinking for trouble reloading. If he needs to use one hand to steady 5-6rds and slower reload maybe not best idea.
