Midway shipped me a Cap & Ball revolver (beautiful 1858 engraved) that AFT don’t consider a firearm but Seattle considered it a firearm and charged me a special $25 tax. Shipped by UPS, so they broke their own rules.

    UPS, ???? confusing me bro

Gotta get that that ESG score up!

I sure hope they don’t stop shipping ammo, that’d put a lot of folks in a bind. I’m sure it probably coming.

It was part of RJB's platform and on his website. Strange, that these carriers are now doing it. Hmmm:oops:

    Specifically,

    ''
End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions. Biden will enact legislation to prohibit all online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts. ''

Well that is one reason I have just gone local. Shipping to an FFL from the hub became a pain and now it's out period. The consignment route is so much easier and no BS at all to deal with. Just collect my cash after it sells. Bought a many a firearm online in years past before they started taxing. Now days I just get it local even if it has to be ordered. Keep the locals in business now days.

This provides a solid reason not to use UPS for any shipping, and provides an opportunity for a new player like Amazon to provide services that UPS will not. Meanwhile, we are seeing pinch points in the current system that the anti-gun element is focusing on to try to choke off the flow of arms and ammo. Each step that makes transactions more difficult encourages many of us to stock at higher levels.

Where are all those people who were all like "all this ups stuff is just a rumor".

Funny how most of the song titles describe the ups the situation.

I would go back and say "I told you so" but all the threads were locked or deleted, probably because they knew I would be proven right and they just wanted to deny there was a problem for as long as possible.

Yep! local and cash. If I didn’t live in a Universal background State, I would buy only Private Sales. But, I do, so FFL gun shops only for me

Not at all surprising, was predicted by several of us here. Now one of their next steps is probably to stop the USPS from handling guns, which I'm shocked they haven't already done.

2 grafs and one midway order in the last week all shipped usps.
I selected "free shipping" where they pick the carrier on all of them. The grafs orders were just bullets no "parts".
Imagine that, locking threads and deleting posts didn't stop it from happening.

By the way, the text provided by Daniel Craig is out of date. Recent definitions, which you can access below, do not exempt antique handguns. That means only FFLs and a few other people in special categories can legally mail an antique or replica handgun. There has been lots of confusion about this, because it was previously ok for any of us to send an antique handgun by priority mail.

Be careful what USPS facility you use or try to use. I was denied at my local PO, they had more excuses than you can imagine. I documented my experience and contacted the local postmaster. My postmaster was furious and is going to regroove the staff as to the rules. law, etc. I then actually mailed my firearm back to Winchester insured, tracking, signatures, etc. on Monday the 26th from my beachside office, where the Postmaster is manager. As of this date my M94 cannot be found as the only tracking shows it was at the facility, only. It is under investigation. Be careful out there. There are people in the shipping world that probably have a bias or maybe have sticky fingers. I have never seen anything like this.

It just cost me 141.67 + a 7.70 “after the fact” surcharge to ship a handgun this past week via FFL-UPS.
