Got a grade of B- (that's B minus) from the NRA. Mostly from his support of background checks with no requirement that the background information be discarded after the sale was concluded. When I called his office, I was proudly told that he was supported by the NRA. A grade of B- from the NRA is a marginal endorsement. It means he is technically supportive of 2A, but has at times walked on the wrong side of the line. You may want to keep any eye on how he votes, and certainly let him know where you stand.

A lot of pols try to dance on both sides, and think they can get away with it. They often claim to be "hunters" and "sportsmen" even while supporting a ban on handguns, a ban on semi-auto rifles, licensing, police permits, etc., etc. Sen. Manchin (D-WV) backed Obama's "assault weapon" ban, while claiming in a long Washington Post article that he was a hunter (who cares?) who thinks his bolt action rifle is all anyone could possibly want and that semi-autos are used only by criminals and killers of school children.

I think I almost prefer a real enemy to the kind of person who pretends to be your friend while he stabs you in the back to please his little tin god.
