I chose the civilian (gunfighter) barrel length I suppose because I already have a good many revolvers with long barrels. It is a good bit more challenging to shoot than the 7.5" Colts and Uberti Copies. One factor that has improved my shooting with this one is the trapper or heinie round spring I use in place of the flat trigger/bolt spring. It reduced the trigger pull from about four pounds to just under 3.

I'm hitting just to the left of Point of Aim but this is my fault rather than the sight-in job they did at the factory. From a bench, it hits right on. The load is 8 grains of Unique. I've been reporting this as an 870 fps load with the machine cast 250 grain cowboy bullets but I sent one across the screen at 945 today. I've about stopped trying to predict exactly what a given can of the Newer, Cleaner Unique is going to do. 945 is what I was getting with half a grain more of the Old Dirty Unique from a 9.5" custom ruger barrel.
If a person were in a mood to complain, the USFA front sight is a good bit wider than late first and second generation colts and various Ubertis and the shiney piano varnish over the color case hardening can flair in bright sunlight. It's a fine single action army anyway.

This holster is lined with fake fleece and does a good job of preserving the finish.

Nice gun gun; fine pictures. Congratulations.

Mike Venturino has written very positive things about USFA arms, and he is one of the more honest gun writers.

Yep. Venturino likes sticking with what he sees.
Jim Taylor came up with one of these in .44 Special he got as a member of the Shootists. That thing is really accurate.
