The Democrat leadership in the General Assembly continues to be in total disarray and/or trying to avoid any kind of transparency in their actions.

With almost no notice and not even saying who is on the Rules committee until late Fri night, the Democrats changed the rules to ban guns in the General Assembly and the Capitol buildings. THERE IS NO EXCEPTION FOR CHP HOLDERS.

IMPORTANT: there is NO ban outside those buildings, including on the Capitol grounds. Thus, those attending the VCDL Lobby Day Rally, which is an outside event on the Capitol steps, CAN be legally armed.

I just got the following email from State Senator Jennifer Boysko (District 33):

Special Announcement

Big announcement on Guns

This coming Monday morning, January 13th at 9:00 am, the Judiciary Committee will be considering several very important bills including several of the bills relating to guns.

I know how important this issue is on both sides of the debate.

If you choose to come to watch, please be aware that it will be NRA Lobby Day.

Please also be aware that the Joint Rules Committee has created a no guns policy on any of the grounds of the Capitol, the General Assembly building, or in the Capitol itself.

Here is a link to the policy on the General Assembly website.

This is a new policy and it goes into effect immediately. Please do not bring a firearm or weapon of any sort with you.

Thank you,

Jennifer B. Boysko

Senate of Virginia, District 33

This implies that guns are off-limits on the entire grounds of the Capitol, including outdoor areas. If you try to be the test case on this, at the least you might get your gun confiscated.
