A local pawnshop has an Argentine made FM Browning HiPower, it's marked DGFM, importer's marks, matching serial numbers on frame, slide and barrel. It comes with one mag but no box. Finish is about 85%, only odd I noticed is that you've got to push the mag hard into the well for the mag catch to engage. They're asking $350 OTD. Another pawnshop also has a DGFM marked FM HiPower, this one's in about 95%, comes with new original mag and one new ProMag, with original box, they're asking $400 OTD.

Are any of these two good buys?

I had one of these and used it in training courses. Beat the dickens out of it and it kept running. Great guns.

I don't know what your local prices are like, but around east Tennessee those are about $50 - $100 high for a used FM HP.

I had a couple FM's. As was mentioned, great guns. I actually think they are more robust than the Brownings.

Mine didnt have any issues with its mags. If anything, it was my Brownings that had issues with the FM mags. They would not go in the Brownings at all. The Browning mags worked fine in the FM's.

I just bought a used FM Friday at the Boise Cabela's for $249. No box and just one magazine but other than a rough finish it seems to be an excellent Hi-Power. I haven't had a chance to fire it but don't expect problems. Field stripping and cleaning reveal it's hardly been fired.
