What is a good price for a lightly used Century International Arms in caliber: 5.45x39mm with wood stock.

Pro's - con's?

TIA

Depends on a few things but in good operating condition (why wouldn't it be :) )... And really nice cosmetic condition you could likely pull anywhere from 450 to 550 on it depending on your market. Here in Central texas You probably wouldnt get more than 5 for it. When 7n6 got banned, the demand for these rifles plummeted around here.

FWIW: I do believe that's and ak74 as well.. not ak47

If it is an AK74 then the value around here is about $350-$400. I rarely see them so maybe they have jumped in price lately but with "new" 47s going for $500 I would guess that is about right. I personally love the 74 and shoot it often but ammo is harder to locate at a decent price locally plus a lot of the gun "experts" around here sort of steer people away from them for some reason. Maybe that's why I have three:)

If the individual weapon is known to work well, quality being sometimes hit or miss with Century at various times in its history, I'd ballpark it at between 400-500 bucks depending on extra mags, ammo and goodies thrown in. Yes, the 7N6 ammo has been banned from import (for now?), but Sliver Bear and Military Classic Russian ammo is still very inexpensive. And in fact, there is SO MUCH 7N6 in the US it is still pretty cheap for now. I have one of the aforementioned rifles and it works very well and has maybe half the recoil of an 7.62 x 39 AK. I have a few thousand rounds of the 7N6 ammo but it is corrosive (and I am lazy about cleaning AK's!) so I only shoot the commercial anyway--which is imported and cheap. To be safe, I would plan on keeping a stock of ammo for this rifle tucked away if you purchase it only becasue it can be sometimes hard to buy over the counter at some stores. It is a fun little gun, the only thing mine doesn't like is after market mags--it likes the old bakelite commi-bloc ones just fine. Keep in mind, too it really isn't a 'tack driver' out past 200 yards or so.
