Just curious as to how much money people top out at spending for a handgun in their collection.
for just a handgun or the gun+ extras like, night sites,lasergrips,etc..
i just forked out 600 for a new springfield with sights
$549 for my Glock 17 is the most money I've ever spent on a gun. I paid much less for each of the S&W and Ruger revolvers, Marlin lever-action rifles, and Remington and Mossberg shotguns in my collection, all bought new (although some were purchased a number of years ago). I don't believe in spending a fortune on guns when good-quality top-name firearms can be bought at resonable prices.
Sig 226 X-Five most expensive that I bought new. Used - Sig P210-5.
Les Baer TRS 1911 at a shade over $1500
Most I ever spent was $700 on a Kimber. in fact , thats the most I have ever spent on ANY firearm. Most others that I own are under $550.00.
Sure there are great custom and "race guns" out there in the $2000.00+ range , but they are certainly not for me. Some of these guns have "custom" features that I have absolutely no use for. I have shot some nice Les Baers, Ed Browns, etc, etc, Great guns!!!, but they were no more reliable or accurate than my Kimbers or Glocks. Just my personal opinion.
Walther P-88. $1000.
99% stainless S&W 657 41 mag with 3" barrel that is supposedly worth $650'ish so I snuck into the 600-900 range.
Sig P210 Kit
I put down some high end cash on this one for the simple fact that its my "GRAIL-GUN", and it came packed with the .22lr slide/barrel and mags, plus the barrel and spring for the .30luger caliber in its orginal case. I concidered it a steal at 3800.00 Since most go for that much by themselves.
Kimber Raptor II $1,275
I have two that both cost about $700. One is a Kimber 1911 and the other is a S&W 629 44mag. I won't spend more than that on a handgun unless my income were to increase drastically. There are far too many good handguns for $500-700 to merit a $1000-1500 purchase.
For a new gun, Colt Premier 1911 - $975
For a used gun, Colt SAA 2nd gen - $1200
NEF R92. Don't laugh - it still puts holes in things.
42 year old Colt SAA...Bought it new in 1966 for $136. and change...Now apraised at over $1600.00
$3500 for a completely handbuilt M1911. If I hadn't sold my MP5 back in the early 1990s it'd be more than that.
wow there are some big spenders on here, mine is my sa mc operator.
I won't buy anything over 1000€ for now. Actually, I can only think of one firearm I want that costs more than 1000€...
The most I've spent so far was 630€ for a new Glock.
I spent $1080 for my Kimber TCII and $950 for my wife's EMP. I might award myself with a high end 1911 when I retire - Nighthawk, Wilson or Ed Brown.
$489 OTD for my PPK.
$450 - Ruger Blackhawk .357
My favorite of my handguns.
Paid much less, but it's worth much more.
Mid 80s S&W CS1 686 3 inch .357. 98%.
At $1,400, my brushed chrome Desert Eagle Mk XIX .50 is the most expensive handgun I own.
I'm a little leary of all these "how much are your guns worth" threads. Wonder what kind of database (shopping list?) someone is building...
To be fair, my most "expensive" handgun isn't my most valued. I have a gift gun, my Super Blackhawk that is worth far more to me. I would sell all of them off before it.
Are we talking how much we paid, or how much it's worth?
