Very difficult to load

It seems like .480" + .011 + .011 = .502" wouldn't really be enough to fill the grooves, but what do I know? I guess it's not like the thin cotton cloth is really supposed to be able to seal all the gas behind the ball anyway.

It is not quite as flush as it could be but keep in mind to that the grooves also change the flow of gases and that helps stabilize the ball. I am glad to see you able to use the larger size balls and turn this into something positive.

To throw some more twist onto things there is also a compression factor in fabric, since different materials compress at different rates the formula is not 100% exact but should net you in a decent starting area.
