Two vids on an AR-15 and a MSAR bullpup. 1,000 rounds each. Both failed in some form, the AR-15's gas tube melted and the MSAR started cooking off rounds in the chamber!

    Vid 1 for AR-15.

    Vid 1 for MSAR.

I'm pretty sure no one else posted these already. I find them very informative because I have read post on this and other forums that claims AR-15's or AK's or what-not go thousands of rounds without a hiccup. Both these videos indicate the opposite is true (for an AR-15 and an MSAR at least).

that's a ridiculous misunderstanding on your part. when people say they'll go thousands of rounds without a hiccup, they mean under normal firing schedules like classes, matches, range use, etc. they don't mean consecutive mag dumps with no time to cool off between them.

good grief. it's not intended to be a machine gun

OK, I only fastforwarded through the first two vids, but it looked like they made no effort to cool the rifle at all.

Those guys are the type we'd send to fetch us a box of grid squares when I was in the Army.

Good way to ruin a decent weapon.
