If you step back and look at the data objectively, it’s pretty clear gun control has no impact on crime. One way OR the other. Criminals don’t care about gun laws, and they don’t particularly care about gun laws’ impact on others.

Violence is cultural, not technological. Laws about weapons tech just don’t move the needle because the weapon tech isn’t the driver in the first place. One way or the other.

Most inner city people have never had any weapons training. Most of them don't even know how to shoulder a rifle properly. I doubt many of them could operate an AR if you handed them a rifle unloaded along with a magazine.

They would probably pull back on the forward assist and complain about the rifle being jammed....

I have no direct access to the outside and no observation of the outside entrances. The only real measure I could take would be an anti-kick bar between the knob and the floor. Changing the locks without changing the entire door and frame would be a joke.

A kick bar would be a great improvement. The point of my post is just because you live in an apartment, doesn't mean you can't take small measures to improve your security. When I left my apartment, I took the bigger screws and the motion sensor with me. The motion sensor turned out to be useless, as where I live now has much wider open areas. But I still put the better screws in all the lock plates.

I provided you a simple summary article. You can look at the FBI stats for yourself.

Not ...having a lot of trust in the fibbies lately. I think I'll stick with Lott, Mustard, Kleck and other experts who state that there's 1 million or more incidents of lawfull self defense yearly in America, versus the 30 to 40,000 homicides.

The typical 55 grain load in an AR penetrates less than buck shot or many common pistol loadings.

1. I never said I was using "Buckshot", also there are several sizes of it too, (if I were using Buckshot),
which have lesser penetration/power than "00" (if that's what you were referencing)

Buckshot sizes

#000 Buck
("triple-aught") LG .36" (9.1 mm) 6.2

#00 Buck
("double-aught") 00-SG .330" (8.38 mm) 8

#0 Buck
("single-aught") .32" (8.1 mm) 9

#1 Buck .30" (7.6 mm) 11

#2 Buck SSG .27" (6.9 mm) 14

#3 Buck .25" (6.4 mm) 18

#4 Buck .240" (6.10 mm) 21

2. A 55 grain - 5.56x45 round will penetrate several layers of drywall

I'm always amazed at those who make blind assumptions about things....
