If anyone remembers the episode of Quantum Leap where Sam goes back to Vietnam to rescue his brother, the Seals actually carried some Stoner rifles and LMGs in a shocking example of historical accuracy, for Hollywood anyway.

In the slo mo part, you can see the barrel harmonics dampen out before the next shot, and really controllable recoil.
