Virginia: Hampton Roads / Tidewater THR Shoot

Hey guys, I'm in VA for the summer helping my family take care of an ailing grandparent. Despite leaving on very short notice, I had the presence of mind to cart my guns down here with me from michigan, and now they're getting restless. They've been couped up in their cases for almost 3 months now. Poor little guys need some exercise.

In addition to the handguns I brought, my grandfather has given me the key to his safe, so I also have an M1 garand, M1 carbine, and old .22 plinker to play with.

This request is two fold. First, I'd just like to get out and meet some fellow THRs for some range time and gun talk. Second, and perhaps more to the point, is I don't really know where to go to shoot around here. Besides, shooting with buddies is more fun anyway.

So, is anyone from the Tidewater area interested in some range time with a yankee?

There is a Yahoo group of folks in the area who sometimes go shooting over in Norfolk at A&P. I will try to remember to forward you the email address when I get home from work this afternoon.
I should be around next week and plan a little trip to an indoor range in Hampton, depending on the weather (good weather=painting outdoors).

Thanks anyway DOJ. I tried for a couple months to get something going, but no one seemed interested in doing anything. The family business I was there for ended on the 4th of july, so I've been back home in michigan for a few weeks now.

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I need to check this site more often. Next time you're in the area send me a PM or email and we'll shoot little holes in great big sheets of paper.
BTW I hope your grandparent is on the mend.
