Intruders Shoot, Kill Hazel Dell Man
Detectives Interview Roommate
HAZEL DELL, Wash. -- A Hazel Dell man was fatally shot in his home Friday morning. The victim's roommate told police that he looked out of his bedroom after hearing commotion. Two unidentified men in the hallway told him to get back inside.
The 19-year-old, whose name was not immediately released, retreated and then climbed out the bedroom window. He later returned, found his roommate shot and called police around 7:30 a.m.
Clark County deputies responded to the home in the 8000 block of Northwest 4th Avenue and found that 20-year-old Matthew Caleb Halligan had been at least once in the chest. Halligan was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital, where he later died.
Detectives were interviewing the roommate.
Neighbors told KOIN 6 News that police had been to the home before.
