I just began reloading. I really got into Trap the past year.

I have the Lyman Manual and I know how to get on the Hodgen Website.

Here goes.....I've been reloading 17.0 grains of Clays in Winchester AA Hulls with Winchester Primers and 1.10 ounces of 7.5 shot. (I weigh everything in two calibrated electronic scales.)

My problem is that I boght 5,000 W12AA SL Wads (Pink) and all the books say to use W12AA Wads.

Am I going to get into trouble? So far the loads shoot real good. I just don't know how big a deal it is in deviating from the book on Wads?

Reloading in or/ for a shotgun, components can be fairly forgiving, I don`t think you should have any trouble what so ever.............

That's a 1oz wad so you will need to drop a little less shot, otherwise you will have issues with your crimp

If you want to save more money, start buying the clone wads from either Claybuster or Downrange - they are almost HALF the cost of the Winchester OEM wads and are the exact same

As to shot, I have never seen loads for 1.1oz. an ounce and an eighth - 1-1/8 would be 1.125oz.

For trap, 1oz will work wonderfully, save you money on shot (every 8th round is free from that aspect), and will lower recoil and save your shoulder
