Does anybody know what the wait times are like on AR's ordered right from the manufacturer websites like CMMG, Stag, DPMS, etc. Not sure which other can be ordered directly.

I would contact them directly for an answer. Each could be very different but I keep hearing 5-6months thrown around. Some of the smaller custom shops that are more specialized may be quicker. The used option is out there too. I do think more restrictions will come down the road but the longer we go past 20 Jan without it maybe some demand will drop off.

While I say more restrictions may come, I want to add that I & hopefully the rest of you will fight useless 'feel good' senseless anti gun proposals. The banning of a bayonet attachment is an example of absurdity.

In an article in this month's Shooting Times, author Mike Nischalke noted, "...An industry friend recently told me that his AR company was backordered to the tune of 30,000 rifles..." If that statement is anywhere near being accurate it would appear that a lot of black rifle buyers may be facing a very long wait for delivery indeed.

Just to put it into perspective, a DPMS representative on AR15.com posted in their industry forum that DPMS's BACKORDERS are at 60,000.

They pointed out that this is MORE rifles than they sold all last year.

my CMMG order: put in on Nov. 6th, got an email telling me on Dec. 23rd they started production. They said to wait 4-5 weeks. So, with any luck, I'll see it at the very end of January, or some time early February. So, that comes out to about 11-12 weeks from CMMG if you ordered from them around the time I did.

worst part? I've been charged for everything already, too.

The only thing you can bank on is that any length of time you're quoted by a manufacturer will almost certainly be incorrect by a large margin

5 weeks ago i walked into my local sporting goods store and there sat a del-ton M-4 flat-top after we got done talking turkey left outa there with it for $682/talk about luck!
