Were any semi auto variants of the MPL or MPK imported for civilian use, in carbine or pistol form? Thanks

I don't think so. I believe they were only imported as dealer samples or for law enforcement/military use.

This is correct, only way you will ever see a semi-auto variant is if somebody bought a parts kit when they were available and built one as a semi-auto, but then if it was a working semi-auto it would be a SBR unless the stock was welded closed.
