It looks like I may be doing some hiking and camping this summer, and with rabies a major problem down here I want to have something along in case of trouble. I don't own any of the revolvers that are normally recommended for wilderness carry, nor can I afford one.
So my question is, what can I expect/rely on a .45 Auto round to be able to do? I know it would work just fine for snakes, and coyotes, but what should I expect when it comes to javelina, wildcats, and possibly bear?
