Want to make a bunch of unaware gun owners felons? Run this ad on FB. Oh, that's just what they did.

There is nothing in the upper part of the ad's pages that indicate you'd be making an NFA weapon on the site. I got all the way to hitting "Order" before I stopped. There's lots of references to making your Glock an SBR in the comments, but what new gun owner is going to see that before ordering? You have to scroll down to see them. A lot of people will hit "order" and gleefully wait for this cool new toy. I just wonder if the USPS driver is going to be followed by a cop to arrest you as soon as you snap the pieces together.

Always, always read the fine print or in this case scroll down until you get to the part that says: "Can I carry with my Viper stock in my state"? and "How can I get a license to carry an SBR"?

These two FAQs should be the first thing you see when you go to their website, not buried somewhere past the ordering and shipping info and the "YES I WANT IT!" button!

Yes, it should be up front and clear, not buried because a LOT of people don't dig, they read what's on the screen without scrolling and just take for granted it is all okay. Note the "Can I carry" isn't "Can I own?" The issue isn't carrying, it's owning.

Had the same issue in the 70's - if not earlier - with slip on, in place of main-spring-housing, stocks for 1911s and grip-panel mounted for others.

Another Shotgun News back-page product.

Marble Game Getter and the like.

Winchester Trapper Carbines under 16" form the factory.

Etc...

Murky waters that sellers tend not to clarify for buyers.

Todd.

Those are great points. With the political environment stacked against gun owners like it currently is I have to wonder why a company that deals with firearm related items would sell something that can so easily make someone a criminal without them knowing it. It's bad! I also wondered about the people who left comments about how great the device is. Even if the USPS driver isn't tailed by a policeman, they've got their names up on the interwebs to be looked up.

The area this stock attaches to has been known to crack just from the plugs some people are driven to install...I doubt it would be a good idea to shove a stock in there, even if it were legal.

Not cool on the companies part at all.
There should be a warning in big flashing red letters saying you can't do it without a stamp and doing so is a crime.
The warning should not be hidden down at the bottom and have to be expanded. (and it is hidden in can I carry...as noted above it is can I own, )
Definitely a case of buyer beware.

A lot of us know you could not buy it without the stamp, but I would guess quite a few people might not.

Remember atf can't regulate what you might do with a part unless it's a drop in auto seer.

I ordered an M203 reciever and a proper 40mm rifled M203 barrel. Now it's a destructive devices on a tax stamp.
You think they would care more about a grenade launcher than a glock with a stock.
It's a good idea to get a form 1 on its way as soon as you can.
To me it doesn't make sense to me to pay the $200 wait up to a few months, get the tax stamp then go to order the glock stock and now find out the company is out of business, has a 4 month backorder, out of stock and no back order or that you put the wrong OAL on the form 1 because you guessed or the company changed the design a little bit while you were waiting.

I think there are a few more things on their list, might want to make sure you are correct and not leading people astray, of course I may be wrong.

I think it would be cool to add to a Glock 40 and use it for hunting. But the cost plus tax stamp kind of overrides that particular cool factor. It’s not a good idea to market it like they did though.

Says it all right there
George, the problem is it says "Carry" not "Own". People think they might be okay to own it as long as they don't carry it. Besides, how many brand new gun owners know what an SBR is? I have people all the time coming in and wanting to buy "stendos" for their gun when they want an extended magazine.

If they had put a strap on it and called it a "brace" it would be legal, no? That being said, it looks like a crappy piece of junk anyway, with questionable added functionality.

The "Whois" data for the domain name is a Canadian domain name proxy service company, meaning that in addition to the domain owner making their identity private, I deduce that it's probably NOT an ATF troll.
