I have purchased some WAAP and was wondering if it was the same as WAP? The container has AA plus, ball powder, Ideal for handicap loads, (what is that?), and a wide range of Handgun. I've sent Winchester and e-mail, but was wondering if anyone has used or seen it? I'm reloading 9mm 125xtp, 147xtp and .45acp 200xtp, and 230xtp. Should I use a different powder or will this one work? I have some PowerPistol left, and have good results, but I thought I bought WAP when I really bought WAAP.

WAAP is Winchester AA Plus, a FAST burning shotgun powder. I have not seen any handgun load data for it. If Winchester will furnish data, stick to it. It will probably be suitable for .45 ACP, maybe 9mm.
"Handicap" loads are shotgun loads intended to be shot at Handicap Trap... clay pigeons with the shooter standing 18 to 27 yards behind the traphouse instead of the basic 16 yard singles station. They are still not real hot loads as 12 gauge goes.

Both are discontinued, you were getting old stock. WAP has a following and is hard to find. WAAP never caught on and did not sell well or for long.

I found Win AA Plus to be a good powder for .38spl Wadcutter loads. Very accurate and good load density (bulkier than other similar fast burning powders)
Use the same data as for the old Hod. Trap100 and Win452-AA. The AA+ was intended to replace the AA452, but as JW said, it was not popular with scattergunners who have gravitated to WST and Clays as powders of choice. WST is slightly less bulky and very similar in burn rate/applications.
In any case, it should not be confused with Win Act. Pistol (WAP), WAP is much slower burner. WAP was very similar to WSF, hence they discontinued it (WAP) in order to trim the offerings.

I do not understand why they brought out AA+ so similar to WST; WSL did not stick, either.
I tried AA+ in 12 gauge and did not think it was any better than, if as good as the 700X I have used most of the time (Except when 452AA was new and less expensive.) So I shot it up in .38 Spl. Lacking printed data, I just put it in my CH Autochamp and took the same VOLUME as I was using 231 for wadcutters and semiwadcutters. Charge weight was lower, velocity about the same. I did not worry about pressures, it was all shot in Magnum guns and if it had come out +P would not have been a problem.
I am now loading .45ACP with 452AA bought from a local trapshooter's estate. It is marked as opened in 1981. I could not find pistol data for it, so I posted here and there on the www. Phil Hogdon came back and said that their Trap 100 was the same as 452AA, supplied to them by WW, and sent me copies out of an old manual. That is very good service, and I will support them by using Hodgdon powders wherever suitable. HS6 in 9mm, H414 in .22-250, and H322 in light load .30-06 and light bullet .223, currently.

As the others have stated, WAAP and WAP are NOT interchangeable.
Even though WAP has been discontinued, Ramshot Silhouette is apparently the same powder, and is freely available...
