Okay,

Has anyone tried the wartak sks rail mount as a scope mount?

Does it hold zero? The one design flaw that I've seen with it is the rear lock down system. It basically has a, little pin that's threaded on both sides and has screws that screw into that.

I know that a way to make receiver cover mounts more sturdy is one can drill and tap the mount and through the receiver cover with the mount in place for a 1/4x20 button head screw. This essentially eliminates movement of the rear of the receiver cover mount.

Thus, since the wartak rail locks in to the front sight I feel like if I could drill and tap the rear of the mount and receiver and run the 1/4x20 button head screw then it would never lose zero even after disassembly for cleaning I'm also thinking maybe there is some quick pin that might hold it but I think the screw method would be better.

What say y'all. Anyone with a wartak rail wanting to try it?
