Was the 44 Magnum ever really "The most powerful handgun in the world"

At the time it was the most powerful "commercially available revolver cartridge" and there wan't anything in "regular production" automatic pistols that came close. However at least one custom maker was turning out single action revolvers chambered in .45-70, but that wouldn't have fitted Harry's dirty image ...

Wasn't the Old Walker .44 the 'Most Powerful...' until at least teh 357 came out, and maybe until the .44?

And I think the nod goes to Production, there's always some wildcat or 50BMG freak thing that can claim top prize.

So, not to hijack, but is the 500 S&W Mag now the MPHitW (Most Powerful Hangun in the World)?

The 45-70 would have been befitting for the Man with no Name.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but i saw a blurb on shotshowreports.com about a 50 BMG handgun. Yes, they have gone off their collective rocker.

I consider these to be beyond insane.

"Beyond insane" is a pretty good description.

So, where can I get one, was thinking of getting a CCW rig. Anyone make IWB holsters?

don't forget the companion shirt to the iwb holster - written on the front is "why yes, i AM happy to see you!"

(personally, i want a matched pair and a yosemite sam outfit, so i can compete in the rapidly growing sport of cartoon action shooting)

Yeah, Pauli!

If you point both of 'em straight down at the ground and fire them simultaneously, the recoil will probably lift you 2 feet high, just like ol' Yosimite Sam!:what: :what:

Doesn't that chick kinda look like "Large Marge" from "Pee Wee's Big Adventure?"

I can see her truck in the background.

"And when they pulled the body from the wreck............. it looked like THIS!!!

BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMM!
