I thought I would plainly explain the other thread. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=336499(some of us in WA aren't too quick).

Ok, Fellas we have about 15 guys ready to roll. This is a half hour from Ellensburg no matter how you slice it. Let's get some guys from the Eastside to show up other than Pops and kin!

L8tor, Old Dog, Balog, 45, Pops +2, Dean C +1, Busy Squirell, J Parker, RWC, me :D, and a couple non members. Hopefully some of the guys from last year can make it back (Fabfink, Wayne, Carnaby etc...)

This is a weekend event starting Friday afternoon and going till Sunday. Camping with your THR buds. Come early, Come late, just show up!

Hehehehehe...........I'll be there............but I guess I said that already...........I feel good that I said it again..............:D

Hey Mainsail,
It's not a "click" of anykind. I'm one of the founding members and believe me these are absolutely the nicest and most genuine folks I've ever come in contact with. We just happen to have the gun hobby in common. There's nothing "weird" going on......just good folks, good intentions, good conversations, and ya get to shoot a bunch of guns! Correct me if I'm wrong but it don't get no better than that.:D

Boy, this is a temptation! :)

I'm deciding right now when exactly I will reach Washington. Had planned to arrive the weekend prior to this gathering, but ... for various reasons might stay on the east coast until August instead.

Stupid dilemmas! Of course, if I can shave a couple of months' rent by staying a few months East (and it seems likely I could), then I could afford to shoot more ammo and better guns if you repeat this gathering in '09 ;)

Hmm.

How could I miss this get together? Sounds like there may be some good campfire stories this year with rifles being misrouted to the ATF and such. :D Possibly even rival the knife wound story of 07, eh? :neener:

In all seriousness, as mentioned you won't find a better group of people. Polish and his family are gracious, welcoming hosts, and the group is just a bunch of level headed (cept' for that Parker guy ;)) firearm enthusiasts enjoying some shooting, visiting, and camping.

Looking forward to it again this year.

Good to hear from you Wayne, and yes the ATF story will be told, along with a few others I am sure. I also need to remember to show you the trailer we hauled in last year it might bring back some memories.

I would love to attend with my 15 yr. old son. Is it age appropriate for a 15 yr.old gun nut?

We are a good group of guys and gals that would love to have him show up. There might be the random Art's Grandma slip but for the most part it is very clean. Pop's grandaughter and Old Dog's daughter both came last year so they might have more to chime in on.

We do bring out the Trinity of Johnny, Jim, and Jack and who can forget the Captain around the campfire, possibly some cigars and they must believe everything said during story time.:what: As an adult if you are lucky you might get a little Celtic Crossing too!

Polishrifleman said it perfectly.

Wheeler44, nothing at all to worry about as far as having one of your kids around this fine bunch of gentlemen. Both Ashley and Sarah (the aforementioned teenage girls in attendance last summer) seemed to enjoy themselves and fit right in ... If your boy is indeed a gun nut and likes the outdoors, he should love this trip up to Manastash Ridge, shared with great people!

Fantastic

I read about the get-together last year but I was new to the site and didn't participate.

Yes he is a gun nut. But I've been feeding him a load of bologna since he was little so he might be a little bit skeptical if the stories are too wild :neener:.

I'm putting it on my calendar and I can't wait.

This is now on my list of "Things I will regretfully miss this summer but intend to make right next time around." OTOH, I am officially planning to spend a fraction of the rent money I am thus saving on a celebratory post-graduation gun purchase ;)

Great Pic BS! I notice you wearing sunglasses so assume the exploding rocks was the night before. It also looks like everyone is listening to Parker for some reason? It must have been the story about the 7-11.:neener:

It's not nearly as green right now but the fire still burns just as nice.

Remember to get your count into the Pro 2A Washington MSN group thread so we'll know how many we are feeding/bedding. If you aren't signed up over there, PM Polish.

Oh, yeah,,,bring ammo.:D

Pops

This sounds like FUN! So what does a guy need to bring? And what sort of supplies can I contribute? And what sort of distance are we gonna be shooting? How's the road-two wheel drive OK?

Kinda like last year, I'll be a definite maybe. Like last year I'll be dealing with a big move about that time frame (last year it was Phoenix to Yakima, this year it's Yakima to Seattle), so my ability to make it will be dependant on exactly when we do the move.
