I'd get it. Damn, for that price I may just have to get into contact with the one of my local shops and order one myself.

I've got one. They're pretty decent guns. The wood is unfinished, but just add some tung oil to it.

Ammo, and mags, are not as common as for the 7.62x39, but that is a good price.

Different caliber but Sarco has the 7.62x39 WASR for $275 + shipping. I think that's the cheapest deal out there on an AK.

Guess who's calling his FFL during lunchtime :D

Buy a lifetime supply of ammo now while you can.

US manufacturers won't be producing it when the imports get shut down.

I'd get the one in 7.62x39. Much easier to find magazines and ammunition. You save money buying the magazines and the ammunition will be less likely to dissapear.

For the price of 5000 rounds of 7.62x39 right now, you can buy 5000 rounds of 5.45.x39 and one of these rifles. Its like getting a rifle for free. At least thats what I keep telling myself.

whatacountry.com has new east german mags for $12. They are very nice mags.

I just got mine. What a rough specimen. I have had a WASR 10 hi cap since about 2002, it is alot nicer finish and smoother function. I dont really care about the finish but the action sure is rough. This WASR 2 has a hard time riding over the hammer(harder than other AK47s), but it does chamber a round ok. I havent fired it yet. As usual it looks like someone put the markings on with an ice pick and a sledge hammer. I put a ton of Tetra grease on it and it is smoother but still the clunkiest AK Ive ever handled. The two mags that came with it are a little loose up and down(mag catch), but the new Eest German mags I have dont quite go all the way in, the mag catch doesnt quite catch them. I will probably cut the catch down a tiny bit and get rid of the mags it came with. The EG mags are super nice and they will not be loose.

But for $289 it is great! Even if it doesnt run well it probably wont take much to make it work 100%. I have a feeling it will probably work ok, but maybe I am jinxing myself. I just have never seen an AK not work. I sure wish you could get a Saiga in 5.45x39. Saigas are the king of cheap guns that are really nice.
