Watch out for the Giant!

Was in the Swamp before sunup this morning on my normal scouting for the season. There is a old Indian Ledgend in my area that a huge beast use to roam the swamp. He later died and a Tree Grew around his head. Today, I made in deep into the swamp, and a area that is normally flooded was dry.The Legend goes that the beast can see everything, and comes back to life on certain nights.
Came across this when I was marking my trail. Could the Legend be true.

Up here we have the opposite problem....land that is typically dried up and dying this time of year, is under water.

Down here it's the "swamp ape". He hangs out in a river swamp outside of Tampa ... amazingly close to a bar.

Yea, glad I got a Pic. If I had come home and told anyone that I saw the head of the Beast in a tree, they would have thought I had been hitting the sauce.

Well in the swamps of where my kids were born it was watch out for Crusoe island. They don't like strangers or ppl of colour. Heard some wild stories. A couple I found out to be true. Some couldn't be verified. That along w snakes, gators, and turtles.

Lol, I feel safer in the swamps and woods than I do on any place. And we have a lot of bears and a ton of harmless Water moccasins. Can feel closer to God than any church.

Amen to that. I know what to expect from wild animals. People not so much.

If we have that lore here, I hope he could swim. Our spring and summer have been stupid. My home lake just rose 10 feet this week. But that’s better than the 28 feet it was up a month ago.
